Poked around after the fact and found plenty of threads saying the game is not actually cross platform, and even the dev's twitter account says as much. Anyway, maybe it's old news to most but it wasn't to me so that's the reason for the bump. For the record I tried the game on my desktop with Win 7 and laptop with Win 10 and neither worked.
